Terms of Use

Last updated: September 14, 2026

1. Using WordShift

WordShift is a daily word game and online service provided for personal, recreational use. By accessing or using the site, you agree to use it in a lawful, respectful, and reasonable way.

2. Fair play

WordShift is designed around fair competition. You must not use bots, scripts, automated guessing, modified clients, exploits, reverse-engineering intended to gain an unfair advantage, or any other method that manipulates gameplay or results.

  • Do not falsify scores or leaderboard statistics.
  • Do not manipulate race outcomes, rooms, or matchmaking.
  • Do not exploit bugs after discovering them in a way that damages the service or other players.
  • Do not attempt to bypass game limits, account restrictions, or security controls.

3. Accounts

Some WordShift features require an account. You are responsible for activity performed through your account and for taking reasonable steps to protect your login credentials. Do not impersonate another person or create accounts for abusive, fraudulent, or deceptive purposes.

4. Leaderboards and races

Leaderboard rankings and race results are generated from gameplay data. WordShift may correct, remove, or invalidate results that appear to be fraudulent, technically corrupted, or inconsistent with the rules of fair play. Rankings may change as data is corrected.

5. Intellectual property

The original WordShift game implementation, visual design, branding, written content, and other original materials are owned by Elio El Hage except where third-party software, services, or other licensed material are used. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of WordShift or its original content to you.

6. Availability and changes

WordShift is provided on an ongoing development basis. Features may be added, removed, redesigned, interrupted, or temporarily unavailable. Leaderboards, saved progress, race rooms, and other data are not guaranteed to remain permanently available.

7. Abuse and enforcement

Access to WordShift may be limited, suspended, or terminated where reasonably necessary to protect the service, its users, or the integrity of the game. This can include action against cheating, harassment, automated abuse, security attacks, or deliberate attempts to disrupt the service.

8. Changes to these terms

These Terms of Use may be updated as WordShift evolves. The “Last updated” date at the top identifies the current version. Continuing to use the service after a material update indicates acceptance of the updated terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.

9. Contact

For questions about these terms, please use the contact method provided through the WordShift website or the account/support channel associated with the service.

These terms are written for the current WordShift service and may need to be revised as the site's features, data practices, or legal obligations change.
